Her Story

About Kimberly

Kimberly Moody specializes in product development and is co-founder of a company that launched a patented formulary product under the name Silver Balance after 15 years of personal use. Previously a stockbroker for over 20 years, she invented the product to address recurring vaginal issues and has received thousands of testimonials from women whose lives it has changed. Moody is renewing her women-owned certificate and partners with a female co-founder. She donates a percentage of proceeds each quarter to Dignity for Daughters, a nonprofit supporting women in Africa with menstrual and reproductive health education. Challenges in her field include securing retail placement, which opens doors once achieved, and complying with FDA regulations that restrict claims and require removal of testimonials and lab results. Moody attributes her accomplishments to empowering women to treat themselves privately and advises young women entering the industry not to give up on their inventions, especially those that help others. Her personal values center on family, including her son in college, and the motivation to support others.

Helping other women with my product that has changed thousands of lives based on testimonials. The fact that women can effectively treat themselves in their own bathroom is quite an accomplishment.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't give up and go for it. Follow whatever dream or product that she invents particularly if it could help others. It's not gonna be easy but go for it especially if the product makes a difference in somebody's life.

Getting into retail stores is a big challenge because they don't want a new product until you're in one. Once in one the rest open up. Also FDA regulations prevent certain claims and required compliance changes like taking down testimonials and lab results.

My family and my son is the most important part of my personal life. Being able to help others really drives me.
