Kimberly Orr is an experienced career development professional and consultant with a background spanning college and career counseling, student advising, and workforce development across secondary and higher education settings. Since 2023, she has worked as a self-employed part-time College and Career Consultant, providing coaching and advising to clients while also serving as a family caretaker and actively seeking a full-time position. Her career began with an internship at Loyola University during graduate school, followed by roles at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida for three years, a six-month position in Dubai supporting women entering the workforce, consulting work in Vancouver, and positions in Texas as Director of Career Development at a Lutheran college for one and a half years and then three years in workforce development where she was promoted to youth counselor for two counties. In the Washington, D.C. area, she held positions at the Art Institute of Washington, where she was named Employee of the Month twice, Stratford University, and Northern Virginia Community College. She later joined Fairfax County Public Schools, serving as a Career Experience Specialist at a high school with 2,000 students aged 14 to 19 and then at the Academy of Communications and the Arts, where she organized a full-day conference with 30 employers and was awarded by the principal. She holds a Master of Education in Counselor Education from the University of New Orleans and a bachelor's degree with a dual major in Communication Studies and Employment Relations from the State University of New York College at Potsdam. She is a member of the National Career Development Association, NACE, and the International Association of Education and Vocational Guidance.
