Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kimberly

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the strong work ethic instilled in me by my parents, along with honesty, independence, authenticity, persistence, and a commitment to encouraging others. Throughout my career, I have remained adaptable and focused on building genuine relationships, whether working as a flight attendant with Eastern and Delta Airlines, in human resources, as an independent caregiver, or in healthcare leadership. One of my most meaningful accomplishments was serving as an independent contractor providing comprehensive support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including case management, financial oversight, advocacy, and community integration. These experiences have strengthened my ability to lead with compassion, remain resilient through change, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have received is to remain authentic and prioritize building genuine relationships. I have learned that sharing my experiences, knowledge, and lessons with others creates meaningful connections and opens doors to new opportunities. Every chapter of my career, from aviation and travel to human resources and healthcare, has provided valuable experiences that have shaped who I am professionally. I believe that the knowledge we gain throughout our careers becomes even more meaningful when we use it to support, encourage, and empower others.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to remain authentic, lead by example, and approach every situation with compassion and integrity. Do not be afraid to share your knowledge, experiences, and ideas, because your perspective has value. Build strong, genuine relationships, remain consistent in your work, and stay open to learning and growth. Most importantly, look for opportunities to create positive change rather than focusing solely on problems. By leading with confidence, kindness, and purpose, you can make a meaningful impact and inspire others along the way.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in senior home care is ensuring that quality private care remains affordable, while also helping families better understand available resources, including long-term care insurance. Caregiver retention and turnover are additional challenges that can affect continuity and quality of care. I see significant opportunities to address these issues through greater education, personalized care solutions, and stronger connections between seniors, families, and community resources. Looking ahead, one of my long-term goals is to develop a fresh, locally focused meal-delivery service for seniors that combines nutritious, personalized meals with nutritional guidance, meaningful personal attention, and opportunities for greater community connection.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my professional and personal life are honesty, integrity, authenticity, encouragement, kindness, compassion, and consistency. I believe in leading by example and genuinely caring about the people I serve and work alongside. Trust is built through consistent actions, compassion, and being authentic in every interaction. I also believe in focusing on solutions and opportunities for positive change rather than dwelling on problems or complaints. By treating others with respect and kindness and remaining true to my values, I strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those around me.
