Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is that “small hinges swing big doors.” This has reminded me that even small actions, thoughtful decisions, and consistent effort can lead to significant opportunities and meaningful impact over time. It’s a principle that encourages patience, attention to detail, and perseverance in both professional and personal growth.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to be confident in your abilities, continually seek knowledge, and never stop learning. Find a mentor who can guide you, and equally, be willing to mentor someone else sharing your experience not only strengthens others but also enriches your own growth. Embrace opportunities, trust your instincts, and recognize that building relationships and knowledge are key to long-term success.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is navigating a traditionally male-dominated industry, which requires persistence, confidence, and the ability to assert my expertise. Additionally, working in the sugar industry presents unique challenges due to evolving dietary needs across different generations of clients, requiring constant adaptation, innovation, and a deep understanding of consumer preferences. At the same time, these challenges present opportunities to educate, lead with integrity, and create solutions that meet the diverse needs of the market.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are maintaining a healthy work-life balance and nurturing meaningful relationships. I believe that taking care of oneself and prioritizing connections with family, friends, and colleagues not only fosters personal fulfillment but also enhances professional effectiveness and long-term success.
