Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kirsten

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my own personal work ethic. I put a lot of pressure on myself to make sure a project is done in a timely manner and to produce the best designs. I take it personally if something doesn't go well and strive to deliver the best products for the company.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

My mom always tells me to trust my instincts in my position and not let someone else discourage me from doing what I feel is best. She encourages me as a woman with management background.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

If you got hired into a position, know that you were hired for a reason. You have talent and are creative. Don't be afraid to have confidence in yourself. Don't let imposter syndrome or lack of self-confidence hold you back from joining conversations or being assertive with your opinions.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Work-life balance is super important to me. It's essential to have a healthy balance and set boundaries with work. Family is really important to me as well. I make a point to see my parents, sister, and nieces often.
