Her Interview
Ten minutes with Kirsten
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute much of my professional success to my mom, who was the breadwinner in our family and taught me from an early age to be independent, take care of myself, and work hard for what I want. Coming from a modest economic background, I began working as early as 15 or 16 and often balanced two jobs while being involved in school clubs, sports, and other activities. I carried that same mindset into college and throughout my career, developing a strong ability to multitask, manage competing priorities, and meet multiple timelines and expectations. Above all, I believe the work ethic my mom instilled in me has been one of the greatest foundations of my success.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is not to be afraid to fail fast. Failure is not something to avoid, but an opportunity to learn, adapt, and move forward. I believe in taking calculated risks, learning from what does not work, and using those experiences to make better decisions and grow professionally.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to take a chance on yourself and believe in your own potential. At the end of the day, you are your strongest advocate, so if there is a career pivot or goal you are hoping to pursue, be willing to take that leap and bet on yourself. You may not always know exactly how you will get there, but having the confidence that you will figure it out is powerful. Set your vision, take intentional steps toward it, and trust the process. Before you know it, those small steps will add up, and you will look back and realize you have created the career you envisioned.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge and opportunity in my field right now is the rapid evolution of AI. Our industry is constantly changing and tends to be cyclical in response to economic conditions, while AI is also transforming roles and reshaping the skills that organizations need. Staying current with these changes and understanding what customers are looking for is essential. At the same time, there are significant opportunities as enterprises undergo large-scale digital transformations, creating strong demand for innovative technology solutions and skilled professionals who can help organizations navigate this evolving landscape.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are a strong work ethic, transparency, humility, and genuine connection. I believe in bringing people together both professionally and personally, building relationships rooted in trust, and being a dependable connector and team player. I strive to remove ego from my work, remain open and transparent in my interactions, and recognize that success comes from contributing to something greater than myself. Above all, I believe in showing up each day with a commitment to doing my best, supporting others, and creating meaningful connections.
