Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my ability to build genuine relationships and my transferable skill sets. My former boss Todd told me 'you have very transferable skill sets,' and that insight was particularly impactful as I navigated multiple industry changes over my 22-year career. One thing I've always had a knack for is relationship building. Even to this day, I'm still friends with my clients from companies like JCPenney, Hallmark, and Pier 1. What I learned in sales is people have to like, know, and trust you. We bridge the gap and help find solutions to businesses, and once you provide a solution, you're like, hey, look, trust me, I'm going to help your life. That relationship-building aspect is what's been successful for me over the years. I've also lived a lot of life through relationships, friendships, and career, figuring out life through lots of different elements. I've always been the one in my friend group that everyone comes to for advice, and I tell people the truth. Whether it's in my corporate work or my life coaching, I think making that deeper impact on somebody's life and allowing them to reset and restart is my greatest accomplishment. It starts with us, and it's going to change the trajectory for generations to come.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received came from my former boss Todd, who told me 'you have very transferable skill sets.' This insight was particularly impactful as I was navigating multiple industry changes over my 22-year career. At the time, I had just transitioned from running my own event planning business to working at a startup, and then I was moving into quality assurance with no prior experience in that field. Todd took a chance on me and said, 'you seem like you are a learner, you're a quick learner, and you have the right personality that we're looking for.' He taught me everything he knew, mentored me, and we're still best friends to this day. That advice about having transferable skill sets gave me the confidence to make bold career moves, from event planning to corporate sales to eventually becoming Senior Director of Sales. It helped me realize that my core strengths in relationship building and problem-solving could apply across any industry.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

What I learned in sales is people have to like, know, and trust you. I think that about sales is that we bridge the gap and we help find solutions to businesses. Once you provide a solution, you're like, hey, look, trust me, I'm going to help your life. The relationship-building aspect is what's been successful for me over the years. One thing I've always had a knack for is relationship building. Even to this day, I'm still friends with my clients. I had clients at JCPenney, Hallmark, Pier 1, and it's through just building relationships. My advice is to focus on being genuine and building those authentic connections, because that's what will carry you through different industries and career changes. Your soft skills and transferable skill sets are incredibly valuable, so don't underestimate them.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest opportunities in the field is leveraging technology—particularly fintech and AI—to simplify workflows and scale smarter, more efficient business solutions. At the same time, ongoing market instability, including the ripple effects of bankruptcies and COVID-era disruptions, continues to challenge leaders to stay adaptable and resilient.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important values to me are self-love, empowerment, and helping others choose themselves. So many women don't look at themselves in the mirror and tell themselves that they're beautiful. You're so kind to so many other people in your life, but you're not kind to yourself. That's one area that I decided to challenge through my coaching work. I help people choose themselves and feel empowered and build that relationship with themselves. In my work, whether corporate or coaching, I value making a deeper impact on somebody's life and allowing them to reset and restart. I think that's my greatest accomplishment, because you have a reset on life, you have a new outlook, and it's going to change the trajectory for generations to come. Relationship building is also core to who I am. I've always had a knack for it, and even to this day, I'm still friends with my clients. I believe in being genuine, telling people the truth, and building trust. People have to like, know, and trust you, and that foundation of authentic connection drives everything I do.
