About Kizzy
Kizzy Smith is an event consultant specializing in event production and logistics. With approximately 23 to 24 years of experience, she handles all aspects of events from back-end coordination and load-in to vendor contacts and activations. She is the owner and founder of Kizzys Kreative Koncepts in Florida. Her career began after a car accident while working at Florida Hospital led her to plan conferences for her godfather in the AME Church, which grew through connections into large events exceeding 10,000 attendees for major corporations and companies. She also operated a graphic design and print shop as part of her business. Kizzy is now pursuing training to become a funeral director, with studies beginning in January, while completing existing university event contracts.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Kizzy
01What do you attribute your success to?
It may sound cliche-ish, but my mother was the ultimate go-getter. I was a late baby, an oops baby. All I saw was my mom. She would work, she would make sure I was good. My dad was always an entrepreneur. I've only ever seen him be an entrepreneur.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Put yourself in the shoes of being the consumer. What would you like to gain out of it when you're manifesting or executing an event? What would you like to see happen and experience? Be the consumer, that'll help you very well execute better.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Money, finance now scaled back. Attendees don't have the resources or funding like they used to. Everything is solely gonna be moving online, virtual. In-person events happening 20 years from now, not as much as they are at present.
