Her Story

About Klarissa

Klarissa grew up in the music industry at a very young age as her father was as a tour manager among many trades. She loved the lifestyle and the family-like bonds that formed on the road and after shows. The band members and crew were with her family for holidays, aftershows, and bbq's. Klarissa credits her father for teaching her the value of owning up to one's word, taking responsibility, living by the golden rule, and how to develop a hard work ethic. She began in modeling as a twin toddler and up into her teen years. As a toddler she owned the runway by making the crowd laugh and cheer. Her height was a challenge for most opportunities during teen years and she knew that career had a physical expiration date. Soon she was booked for a for photo shoots with advertisements, magazines, and a few fashion shows however runway gigs were no longer an option. She started in the music industry back when music videos were still big. After working on a music video doing wardrobe and props Klarissa was invited to go on tour with a band who loved her work ethic and attitude. After that she started touring with A-list artists right away on personal tour buses and planes traveling worldwide. Traveling the world and receiving a paycheck was a lovely reality. Over a short period of time she pivoted to become a trusted personal assistant to many well known A list musicians, wardrobe and prop assistant, fulfilled many years as a production coordinator, and brought her creativity to light as a stage make up artist and stage prop creator. She said yes to every possible role needed in the industry to network and learn every aspect. While touring she pursued online college gaining degrees and various certifications. Klarissa is a continual lifelong student who has pursued a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, a master's degree in psychology, holistic nutritional degree, and many financial licenses including becoming a mortgage loan officer amongst others. Being on tour does not always provide steady income and having a backup plan is a necessity. Her master's degree in psychology has helped her tremendously in dealing with multiple personalities of different coworkers and artists on the road. Her financial degrees have helped with accounting and merch on the road as well as advising coworkers and friends on making the best financial choices in life. Today she is still a production coordinator in the music industry. Additionally, she started her own business called Everything Under the Stars that provides services for touring, events, festivals, financials, and fundraisers. She makes it a goal to bring everybody together on the road and in any work atmosphere, which is not always an easy task. Looking ahead, Klarissa is hoping to grow her production company to assist festivals, venues, concert tours, and more non profits. She is also hoping to build her financial planning company to assist friends and family with their financial needs to provide the education and facts for their best financial solutions.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Klarissa

01What do you attribute your success to?

I became a young single mother, and my daughter became my muse. She's amazing and provides me with the motivation just to become the best woman, mother, and human on this earth. She's been my driving force in everything I have accomplished and continues to inspire me to keep growing and achieving.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Never sacrifice your integrity for a dollar.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Definitely take on any and every respectable role possible. You never know where it is going to lead you. The smallest roles such as helping with catering or being a runner for a concert can help you get your foot in the door if you are looking to get in the music industry. Once someone recognizes your hard work ethic and your ability to learn and grow, then you're on your way climbing the ladder. That's exactly how I built my career - by being willing to do whatever was needed and showing that I could learn and contribute. Never jepordize your morals, you have to be able to fall asleep at night knowing you put good energy and deeds into the world.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I have been the only woman on many tours. Sometimes it was comical just me and 10 guys living on a tour bus for a month and a half working with a full band of men. I had become one of the boys and dealt with their silly mannerisms. Over the years, I have worked with many wives and significant others that have trusted in me 100% as being honorable and holding values is of the upmost importance. It's all about being an upstanding member of the music industry and never jeopardizing your values. Building that trust and maintaining my integrity has been crucial to overcoming the challenge of being one of the few women in this male-dominated field.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My core value: humbling is the first step to greatness. I try every day to live a humble life that is open to as much knowledge, love, and laughter. You know we only have one life and you have to soak it all up before you exit. Love to the darlings that no longer experience this life with us. That is what drives me in everything I do, both professionally and personally.
