About Komal
Komal Changediya is a construction project manager specializing in construction and real estate development. She works at Shorewood Construction in Chicago, managing a diverse portfolio that includes hospitality projects, restaurants, hospitals, Tesla EV initiatives, schools, and offices. Komal began her career with a bachelor's degree in architecture from India, followed by a master's in project management from Middle Eastern University in Boston with a minor in construction. She completed an internship in Florida as a project coordinator, progressed to assistant project manager, and now serves as project manager. She belongs to a project management professional organization and has mentored at least 20 students in job search and professional skills.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Coming to this field takes a lot of management skills, communication skills, and operational skills. You need to be good at communication skills, good at managing, keeping things, keeping the contracts, keeping everything in your mind, and having top of your head, it's very important. Being attentive and attention to detail is something which I kind of give advice to everyone, and I also follow that in my own life.
