Kristal Coleman

Kristal Coleman serves as Owner, CEO, and Founder of the Mia Foundation, a nonprofit she launched nearly four years ago following the 2022 loss of her daughter to gun violence. Operating from Jacksonville, Florida, Coleman organizes two annual events, one locally and one in Memphis, that bring together 50 to 80 parents each time for dinners, speakers from mental health and domestic violence fields, and community support. Her prior experience in the nonprofit administrative sector and work with domestic violence shelters informs her commitment to providing resources for parents raising grandchildren or returning to work, while also acknowledging community leaders and educating the public on the challenges of grief.
