Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kristen

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to being passionate about my field, staying hands-on, and being genuinely invested in my company’s success. I also believe in caring for and supporting the people around me.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve received is to live my life by design, not by default. I’ve learned to believe in myself, pursue my dreams, and intentionally create the career and life I want.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

You are enough. It’s easy to lose yourself in business, but stay confident, pursue your dreams, and trust that you have everything within you to succeed.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest opportunities in retail are making it easier and more accessible for customers and staying responsive to the market. It’s important to know your voice and value proposition, think like a shop owner, and balance quantitative data with qualitative insights to make better decisions.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I value caring for and investing in the next generation. Servant leadership is especially important to me—leading by example, supporting others, and helping them grow and succeed.
