What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to doing the job for the right reason. Keller Williams has a saying, 'what's your big why?' - why do you do the job that you do? My big why was to help people, number one, but also to provide for my kids and give them a better life than what I had. It doesn't have to be any big thing, your big why could literally be 'I want to buy a beach house one day.' Different people are motivated by different things. I got into real estate for my kids, and it wasn't that I was passionate about it in the beginning, but I am now. It was something that I thought I would like to do, and now it's something I love to do. I am committed to providing excellent service to everyone I meet.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The most impactful career advice I’ve ever received came from my coach at Keller Williams, Jason Drissel. By nature, I like to feel fully prepared before taking action. I want to have all the answers and be confident before putting myself in a position where I might be questioned. During my first six months in the business, I focused heavily on learning and preparation, but I wasn’t taking meaningful action. At that point, Jason gave me simple but powerful advice: “Just get out there and do it.” That shift in mindset made all the difference. I quickly realized that real growth comes from experience, not just from studying or trying to master every detail in advance. After that conversation, I completed my first transaction and learned more in that single experience than I had in the previous six months combined. Fifteen years later, Jason remains a coach in our office, and I still turn to him for guidance. That advice continues to shape how I approach both my business and my growth.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Early on, it’s important to stay resilient and develop a strong sense of confidence. When I first started in this business, I found it challenging and questioned whether I was truly suited for a sales career. Over the years, I’ve mentored several women, friends and colleagues who entered the industry and many of them expressed the same doubts I once had.
What I’ve learned is that these feelings are completely normal at the beginning. Real estate is ultimately a very rewarding profession. You’re guiding clients through one of the most significant and emotional financial decisions of their lives. Whether someone is selling a home they love or relocating due to life circumstances, there’s always a deeper story behind the transaction.
My advice is to stay the course. With time, experience, and persistence, the rewards both personal and professional make it all worthwhile.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in today’s environment is navigating the current market conditions, particularly for buyers. Inventory remains limited, which often results in multiple offers on the same property. As a result, clients don’t always secure the home they initially fall in love with, and we have to remain focused, regroup, and continue the search. A key part of my role is managing not only the logistics of the transaction but also the emotions that come with it; both my clients’ and my own. The most effective way to address this is through education and setting clear expectations from the start. I make it a priority to communicate openly with clients, explaining that we are operating in a highly competitive market and that there may be setbacks along the way. From there, it’s about putting our strongest offer forward each time and maintaining perspective. I firmly believe that the right home is out there, and when the timing aligns, it will come together. By preparing clients in advance and keeping them informed throughout the process, we can help them stay confident, resilient, and ultimately successful.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me, both professionally and personally, are integrity, consistency, and connection. Integrity is at the core of everything I do. I believe in being honest, transparent, and doing what’s right, even when it’s not the easiest path. In real estate especially, clients are trusting you with one of the biggest decisions of their lives, and that trust is something I take very seriously.
Consistency is also incredibly important to me. I show up the same way for my clients, my colleagues, and the people in my personal life. I believe relationships are built through reliability and being someone others can count on, not just when things are going well, but especially when they’re not. And finally, connection. I value meaningful relationships and genuine human connection. Whether it’s helping a client through an emotional move or spending time with family and friends, I believe life is about being present and showing up for the people who matter. At the end of the day, I want to be known as someone who leads with honesty, shows up consistently, and truly cares about the people around her.
