Her Interview
Ten minutes with Kristen
01What do you attribute your success to?
I would just say just how I was raised. Hard work, and showing up and being true to your word, and just how my parents raised me.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice that I've ever received is just really find a company that fits your strengths and appreciates you for who you are.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
In today's world, it's really like make sure you take notes and ask questions. I found that the upcoming generation doesn't really do either. Ask and learn and tell your boss what you want.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest opportunity in scrap metal is there's so much room to grow. You can take it so many different directions, and it is an environmental issue. The opportunity to grow and expand and move up in the field is there.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I would say honesty and just being ethical which makes sense with my job.
