Her Interview
Ten minutes with Kristi
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute much of my success to my late mother, who was my greatest source of guidance and support. She paved the way for me, encouraged my creativity, taught me to enjoy life, and constantly spoke confidence and purpose into me. Losing her meant losing my security blanket, but the lessons, strength, and love she gave me continue to shape who I am today.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is that your personality will take you far. Being authentic, personable, and confident can open doors and create meaningful opportunities throughout your career.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to genuinely care about people. People are naturally drawn to those who value, support, and connect with others, and that authenticity can take you far in your career.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in hospitality is navigating the slower months, but those periods can also create opportunities to grow and explore new roles, such as sales or administrative support. I’m especially grateful for my own career progression—from starting as a hostess in food and beverage to moving into front desk, PM and night host, and eventually overnight responsibilities. Being promoted twice within a short period has reminded me to appreciate every opportunity and continue growing.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me are teamwork, authenticity, and integrity. At work, I believe in supporting my colleagues and working together as a team, especially when someone needs an extra hand. In my personal life, I value being true to myself, honest with others, and living with integrity. I believe that when you genuinely embrace who you are, people can feel that authenticity and trust you.
