Her Story

About Kristin

Kristin Ash is Senior Business Development Manager for the South Central Region at Wellworks For You, a role in which she partners with employers, advisors, and strategic partners to deliver flexible, scalable workplace wellness solutions, including a cardiometabolic program that builds on existing coaching and product offerings while exploring telehealth expansion to support appropriate use of GLP-1 medications. She brings more than two decades of experience in the international benefits industry to her current work, having grown a travel policy business, launched group benefits divisions for several carriers and brokerages, and held senior sales leadership positions at UnitedHealthcare Global before a notable stint at McAfee, where she introduced a digital wellness offering as an employee benefit.

Without a formal college degree, Ash has built her career through curiosity, continuous learning, and a willingness to seize new opportunities as they arise. Her path into the wellness industry was shaped in part by her own experience as a breast cancer survivor, an experience that redirected her focus toward health and prevention. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her ability to generate substantial revenue growth, secure major contracts, and design tailored international benefit solutions for multinational organizations, earning industry honors including a nomination for Global Mobility Rising Star and a win for International Benefits Provider of the Year, both from the Forum for Expat Management.

Beyond her professional work, Ash remains active in her community as a member of a breast cancer survivor dragon boat racing team that competes both nationally and internationally, and she is a member of NABIP, where she is scheduled to speak at an upcoming event. She credits her professional achievements to adaptability, resilience, curiosity, and grit, and she encourages young women entering the wellness field to pursue what genuinely excites them, remain open to new experiences, and invest in their physical strength for long-term

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kristin

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to adaptability, resiliency, curiosity, grit, and lifelong learning. I have never been afraid to embrace change or pursue opportunities outside my comfort zone, because I believe every challenge holds the potential for growth. I always come out better than I was before, as long as I stay open to recognizing the blessings hidden in difficult situations.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I have ever received is not to worry about what hasn't happened yet, and instead focus on the work in front of me. I've also learned that what people say about you, good or bad, is none of your business — you just have to keep doing the right thing. I try to make incremental progress every day, even if it's just one percent, because I've learned that you grow more from failure than from winning.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women entering this industry to be genuinely passionate about their work, because enthusiasm and passion are contagious. Take the time to figure out which part of the field speaks to your heart, and be open to trying new things — if something isn't the right fit, it's okay to move on to something else. I'd also encourage them to build physical strength now, since it pays off for long-term health.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I see real opportunity in expanding telehealth, supporting the appropriate use of novel therapies like GLP-1 medications, and positioning wellness as a risk-management tool that improves population health and reduces workplace injuries. At the same time, our field faces challenges including public misinformation, fear around new technologies like AI, online negativity toward those who share their work publicly, and the financial toxicity so many people face when navigating cancer care.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Resilience, curiosity, and a genuine passion for helping and educating others are central to who I am, both professionally and personally. Integrity matters deeply to me, as does practical self-care — including maintaining strength, mobility, and good nutrition — because I believe you have to live the values you promote to others.
