About Kristin
Kristin Gallagher is a studio management, game production, motion capture, real-time production and animation-focused professional with 21 years of experience in the industry. She began her career with an internship in motion capture while pursuing animation and soon embraced the motion capture route after finding desk-based animation work unfulfilling. Over the years she advanced from performing shoots and data tracking to managing stages, including four years running a stage without formal recognition before moving on. She spent 14 years at her first major job, then joined Fox VFX Labs where she was promoted to supervisor within two months and led for nine months until the company was removed from roster. Subsequent roles included five months as production supervisor at a startup, followed by positions at Electronic Arts as stage manager and then studio manager nine months later. Most recently she joined Lightspeed Studios to build their motion capture studio from the ground up, an achievement she considers her most notable. Gallagher holds a degree in Media, Arts and Animation from the Art Institute of California, Los Angeles. She is known for developing high-performing teams, valuing team members' growth, and fostering environments where staff receive the affirmation needed to excel.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

ps- I know this advice is not always helpful, but it was the push I needed at the time to trust my growth and intelligence.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
