Kristina Nye

I started in the restaurant industry 27 years ago when I was young, washing dishes at Curtis Cafe in a small town in Kansas. My dad told me he was no longer going to buy my music CDs, so I had to get a job. After graduating high school in 2004, I continued building my career in the restaurant industry. I was with one company for 10 years before losing my father and re-uprooting my whole life and my mom's life to a whole new area. I recently started as the general manager for Grand River Brewery in Jackson, Michigan, where I've been for 30 days. One of the unique things about me is I'm actually driven from other people's success in the business. Developing the people that work underneath me to take on roles that they're really interested in is something I strive and really vibe on, so watching their success stories is a huge success for me. In the next 5 years, I hope to see myself and my business on the up-and-coming, rebuilding and rebranding, and then hopefully having somebody take my position so I can be a regional manager and help the other locations grow as well.
