About Kristy
Kristy Cromblin serves as a Resident in Preventive Medicine at UMass Chan School of Medicine in Worcester, Massachusetts. In this dual clinical and academic program, she works with patients in clinic settings while pursuing her Master's in Public Health. She maintains a second role at a patient advocacy company, assisting Medicare patients in accessing resources to address social determinants of health and improve quality of life.
Cromblin holds a CDIP certification as a Clinical Documentation Improvement Practitioner and a Surgical Clinical Reviewer certification. Her prior experience includes serving as a quality improvement specialist in the surgery department at Johns Hopkins, where she contributed to patient safety initiatives through the Armstrong Institute, collecting data that supported changes in perioperative protocols. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she volunteered at Jamaica Hospital in Queens, New York, gaining hands-on experience in emergency procedures such as CPR and intubation.
Earlier in her career, Cromblin worked as a provider in urgent care in St. Louis and taught nursing students. She co-founded the Alliance of Medical Graduates, advocating with legislators to pass a bill in Alabama that enables matched medical graduates to practice and retain clinical skills during gaps in training. She is also a member of the Society of Preventive Cardiology and serves as a board member of the Marlon Marcus Foundation, supporting youth mentorship and recreation programs in her hometown of Prattville, Alabama.
