Ten minutes with Kristy
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my faith in God and my commitment to aligning my leadership with His direction. Every day begins with prayer—not just as a ritual, but as a strategic discipline that centers my thinking, sharpens my decision-making, and grounds how I lead.
As an executive leader, I operate with intentionality. I prioritize clarity over chaos, focus over fragmentation, and stewardship over constant pursuit. I’ve been entrusted with the ability to think creatively and solve real problems, and I apply that through building systems, developing people, and designing solutions that create lasting impact. My faith fuels my vision, and my creativity drives execution.
I lead through relationships. I invest in people, cultivate strong networks, and create environments where collaboration and growth can thrive. I listen, I learn, and I move with purpose.
At this stage, my leadership is centered on disciplined stewardship. I’m not chasing every opportunity—I evaluate, align, and execute on what fits the assignment. As I remain focused and accountable, the right opportunities continue to present themselves. My role is to lead with excellence, manage what I’ve been given with integrity, and trust the scale and pace of what I’m building.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received was to work in your passion and ask for what you want—and I’ve applied that with intention throughout my career.
I’ve been very deliberate about operating in my sweet spot—where my faith, creativity, and leadership intersect. That alignment has allowed me to design spaces, strategies, and solutions that elevate outcomes for the organizations and communities I serve.
Every role I’ve stepped into has been relationship-driven. Opportunities have come from people recognizing a unique value I bring—particularly my ability to think creatively, build systems, and lead with both vision and execution. From there, I’ve approached each opportunity with clarity and confidence, negotiating roles that align with both impact and sustainability—whether in full-time leadership or strategic, fractional engagements.
At the executive level, I’ve learned that you don’t wait to be placed—you position yourself. You articulate your value, align it with a need, and build roles that create mutual success.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to be intentional about pursuing work that aligns with your passion and your purpose—not just what’s available, but what truly fits who you are.
Be confident in the value you bring. Take the time to understand your strengths, refine your skills, and clearly articulate what you can execute. Then advocate for yourself—don’t wait to be chosen. Position yourself, speak up, and ask for what you know you bring to the table.
I also believe it’s critical to stay grounded. Keep your faith at the center of everything you do. It will guide your decisions, strengthen your confidence, and help you navigate both opportunities and challenges with clarity.
And finally, commit to excellence. This is a competitive space, and what will set you apart is not just your passion, but your ability to deliver with consistency, integrity, and impact.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in professional development today is discerning quality. The market is saturated—everyone is a consultant, a speaker, a coach and that creates noise. As leaders, we have to be intentional about vetting the substance behind the message. Who is delivering the content? What is their lived experience? Can they translate insight into real outcomes?
That requires discernment and due diligence. At the executive level, we’re not just investing in content, we’re investing in capability, performance, and long-term impact.
At the same time, I see this as a significant opportunity. If you have a unique perspective, a proven framework, or a distinct way of solving problems, especially in emerging spaces like AI—you can enter the market now. Where I focus is entrepreneurial wisdom and human-centered AI: ensuring that as we adopt technology, we don’t lose critical thinking, creativity, or sound judgment.
The opportunity is real but it must be approached with excellence, credibility, and integrity. That’s what ultimately separates presence from impact.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Putting God first in everything I do is the foundation of my life and leadership. I start every day with prayer—that’s non-negotiable for me. It centers me, gives me clarity, and helps me lead from a place of purpose.
My mornings are intentional. I take care of home first—preparing breakfast and coffee for my husband, James of 28 years. We’re both entrepreneurs, so that time together matters. It grounds and connects us before the day gets going.
From there, my days are filled with partner meetings, making decisions, sales / pitch conversations, and building our vision. I’m either working on resources for entrepreneurs and leaders or collaborating on projects that help people grow in their careers or scale their businesses. The heart of my work is creating solutions and spaces that move people forward.
Excellence and integrity are non-negotiable for me. I believe in doing things well and doing them with integrity and humility.
I’m also fueled by my passion for faith, creativity, and connection—learning from people, growing together, and building community. That’s exactly what SheCan Connect represents: faith, business, and generosity in action.
