Her Interview
Ten minutes with Kristy
01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
“Don’t wait to be discovered. You are the architect of your own future.”
I believe in taking ownership of my professional development, advocating for my contributions, and actively pursuing opportunities rather than waiting for recognition. I also value the importance of embracing my individuality and recognizing that my unique perspective can be a professional advantage.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women to take ownership of their career paths, advocate for themselves, and recognize the value of their unique strengths. Do not wait for others to discover your potential. Seek opportunities to build meaningful relationships, learn from the experiences of others, and contribute your perspective with confidence. I also believe it is important to remain curious, embrace uncertainty, and recognize that growth often comes from being open to learning and adapting.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The dealmaking environment continues to evolve in response to changing market conditions, credit availability, interest rates, and capital structures. These changes create challenges for private equity sponsors and businesses seeking financing, while also creating opportunities to identify flexible funding solutions and support strategic growth. At Netrex Capital Markets, I see the importance of maintaining strong lender and sponsor relationships, staying informed about market developments, and using timely market intelligence to help clients navigate financing decisions. I also believe there are meaningful opportunities to expand women's networks and increase the visibility of women-founded businesses across the finance industry.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value curiosity, humility, collaboration, and relationship-building. I believe strong professional networks are built by genuinely supporting others, remaining open to new perspectives, and creating opportunities for people to connect and learn from one another. I also value self-advocacy and continuous growth, particularly the willingness to acknowledge what I do not know and adapt as circumstances change. Through my involvement in women's leadership initiatives, I strive to foster an environment where women can support one another and succeed together.
