Her Interview
Ten minutes with Kritika
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to curiosity, resilience, and the willingness to continuously learn. Construction is an industry where every project presents new challenges, and I have always approached those challenges as opportunities to grow.
Equally important has been the support of mentors, teammates, and leaders who believed in my potential and encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone. Their guidance helped me build confidence, develop leadership skills, and pursue opportunities that pushed my career forward.
Success in this industry is never achieved alone. It is the result of collaboration, trust, and the shared commitment of teams working together to solve complex problems and deliver meaningful results.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I ever received was simple: “Be curious and keep asking questions.”
Early in my career, I realized that curiosity is one of the most powerful tools for growth. Asking questions opens the door to learning from experienced professionals, understanding the bigger picture, and discovering solutions that might otherwise go unnoticed.
That mindset has helped me navigate challenges, adapt to new technologies, and continuously expand my perspective within the industry.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Believe that your perspective belongs at the table.
Construction and technology are evolving rapidly, and diverse perspectives are essential for innovation and progress. Be curious, ask questions, and seek mentors who support your growth.
Most importantly, don’t wait until you feel completely ready before stepping into opportunities. Confidence often comes from experience, and every challenge you take on helps build the foundation for the leader you will become.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in construction today is the integration of digital technologies into project delivery. Tools such as BIM, data analytics, virtual reality, and advanced coordination platforms are transforming how teams plan and execute complex builds.
However, the challenge lies in bridging the gap between technology and field operations. Successful implementation requires collaboration, training, and a mindset shift across the entire project team.
The future of construction will belong to organizations that embrace innovation while empowering people with the skills and knowledge to use these tools effectively.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, collaboration, and continuous growth are the values that guide both my professional and personal life.
I believe in approaching challenges with honesty and accountability, supporting teammates through collaboration, and always striving to improve both technically and personally.
These values help create environments where people feel empowered to contribute, learn, and succeed together.
