Her Story
About Krystal
Krystal is a healthcare administrator and business leader whose career reflects a unique blend of analytical expertise, communication skills, and a deep commitment to serving others. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Broadcast and later completing training as a data analyst through Kennesaw State University, she built a strong foundation in research, data interpretation, and strategic communication. Her professional journey took an unexpected but meaningful turn when family circumstances called her to step into a leadership role within the home care industry.
When her mother became ill and her veteran stepfather experienced a disability, Krystal made the life-changing decision to set aside her previous career path and take over the family-owned home care agency. As Senior Administrator, she quickly immersed herself in every aspect of the business, overseeing daily operations, recruiting and training caregivers, managing payroll, ensuring regulatory compliance, and helping veterans access the benefits and services they deserve. Her hands-on leadership style and dedication to quality care have been instrumental in transforming the organization.
Under Krystal’s leadership, the agency has experienced remarkable growth, expanding from just two clients to nearly fifty in a little over a year. What began as a family responsibility has evolved into a thriving organization serving veterans and families throughout Georgia, with ongoing expansion into upstate New York. Driven by compassion, resilience, and a strong sense of purpose, Krystal continues to build a business that not only delivers exceptional care but also honors the sacrifices of the veteran community it serves.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Krystal
01What do you attribute your success to?
I promised myself that I would always follow through with everything that I put forth the effort to. Having younger siblings as well as my daughter watching me, and their friends who I've come to love as second children, I want to be the best example for them.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Always go with my gut and first instinct. Drop the imposter syndrome and walk your purpose.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Walk with purpose
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The constant change within the veteran network where hours get cut drastically from one week to the next, affecting both veterans and employees' pay. We try to have backup plans to provide some services in the meantime.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity for sure, just being able to stick by my word. And just having that empathy, especially now with the state that we're living in.
