Her Story

About Krystle

Krystle Seidel is a Family Partner with the University of Florida, where she supports families navigating complex pediatric medical journeys across multiple specialty clinics. Working within UF Pediatrics, she provides caregiver education, advocacy, and systems navigation for families of children with developmental, behavioral, and complex medical needs. Her role spans seven pediatric specialties, including craniofacial, pulmonary, endocrinology, infectious disease, nephrology, hematology, and oncology, where she serves as a vital liaison between caregivers and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. In addition to facilitating communication and participating in case reviews, Seidel leads family engagement initiatives, coordinates educational events, manages a quarterly newsletter, and cultivates partnerships with community organizations to strengthen support services for families. Before joining the University of Florida, Seidel spent two years providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy as a behavioral health technician. She delivered individualized behavioral interventions, implemented treatment plans developed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts, and supported children with diverse communication needs through sign language, augmentative communication devices, and verbal communication. Seidel is currently completing prerequisite coursework in preparation for nursing school, where she plans to continue expanding her ability to advocate for and care for children and families. Beyond her professional responsibilities, Seidel is deeply committed to serving her community. She co-founded the Gainesville Doula Network and serves on the board of the Birth and Resource Network of Gainesville, helping connect families with essential education, resources, and support throughout pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. Her dedication to community service was recognized with the 2019 Moms Who Make a Difference Award. Seidel attributes her success to the inspiration she draws from her children and is guided by the values of compassion, kindness, and empathy in every aspect of her personal and professional life. She remains passionate about empowering families, strengthening community connections, and improving outcomes for children through advocacy, collaboration, and compassionate care.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Krystle

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success comes from my kids. I do everything for them. As a single mother with 50-50 custody, I receive support from my ex-husband's family. I want to provide a good life for them and feel passionate about my community and connecting with other families.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Providers are stretched thin. There are healthcare deserts especially in Florida where patients travel long distances like 3 hours for appointments. Opportunities include roles for nurse navigators on interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Compassion and kindness are most important both personally and professionally.
