About Kutemwa

I have been working as a researcher and volunteer in women's health for the last 3 years, and that position has led me to a lot of other roles in my field. I've worked as a medical technician, and I currently work as a Climate for Health Ambassador. I'm heavily involved with the organization Future Healers of the Coastal Bend, where I serve as the Deputy Director and Co-Founder, leading student programs in our Student Ambassador Program in the Corpus Christi region. I'm currently working on developing a medical device, and I work in bioinformatics as well. Most of my day is spent reviewing applications and forms for the different initiatives I'm involved in, planning out different training events for people in Corpus Christi, and also just spending time volunteering and applying for grants. A lot of my work as a Climate for Health Ambassador intersects with my work in research, so a typical day for me is online throughout the whole thing. At the beginning of this year, I became a Climate for Health Ambassador after completing the EcoAmerica training, and I've been leading conversations about climate's health impacts at my school, within my Red Cross regionally, and at our chapter meetings. I've been guiding students in understanding what the health impacts of climate change are, and how we can prepare for them and also fight against them.
