About Kween
Kween Moore serves as a business owner, full-time classroom art teacher, Commissioner for the City of Newark, and board president of the LGBTQ Commission Advisory and Concerns Commission. She has over 20 years of professional experience in visual, literary, and performing arts education and workshops, having founded her jewelry and visual arts company after college and building it into one of the leading providers in the tri-state area and internationally. Moore teaches for LGBTQ policy and legislation through arts and education, curates exhibits and produces festivals through her FEMME Curator Arts company, and maintains a pop-up gallery in downtown Newark along with a studio at Project for Empty Space. She earned her degree in art therapy psychology from Albertus Magnus College in Connecticut and has taught in multiple countries including Africa for two years, Haiti for four years, India, and Mexico. Moore volunteers with organizations such as Garden State Equality, Grassroots Super Girls Camp, Care Spark, Four Corner Public Arts, and the City of Newark, and she is a member of the National Arts Honor Society. Her honors include the 2023 Young Artist Annual Coach Award, Trailblazers Award, Essex County Board of Commissioners Honors Award, AIDS World AIDS Day award in 2018, and Trailblazers Media Award in 2015.
