About Kyia

Kyia Reese is a dedicated Fashion Sales Associate at Dillard’s Inc., bringing over a decade of diverse experience across retail management, corporate sales, fashion merchandising, and tech sales. A graduate of Oklahoma State University with a degree in Apparel Merchandising and a minor in Marketing, Kyia has built her career on a passion for fashion and a genuine love for connecting with people. Her professional background includes leadership roles at Macy’s, Blue Diamond Industries, and Ross Dress for Less, where she developed a strong foundation in visual merchandising, sales strategy, and customer relationship management. She currently specializes in ladies’ ready-to-wear apparel, focusing on visual presentation, brand education, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Throughout her career, Kyia has achieved significant milestones and overcome challenges with confidence and grace. She made history as the first Black woman to serve as the Dior Counter Manager at Macy’s, where she exceeded sales goals and inspired her team to excel. At Dillard’s, she quickly became the top seller in the ladies’ department within her first four months—an achievement that highlights her commitment, work ethic, and ability to connect authentically with her clients. Having worked in male-dominated environments, Kyia has learned to navigate them with professionalism and self-assurance, serving as a role model for women pursuing careers in fashion and sales. She takes pride in representing women of color and breaking barriers within the fashion industry.

Looking ahead, Kyia is eager to return to retail management and continue advancing her career in the fashion sector. She aspires to transition into retail buying, leveraging her extensive experience in customer engagement and product knowledge to influence purchasing decisions and trends. Passionate about mental health awareness, Kyia also hopes to become involved with local nonprofit organizations and women’s business networks that support personal and professional growth. Outside of work, she enjoys baking, reading, shopping, and exploring fashion trends online. Her journey reflects resilience, ambition, and a lifelong commitment to empowering others through style, authenticity, and positivity.
