About Kyomi
She is a speech-language pathology scholar and educator dedicated to advancing culturally responsive practices in communication sciences and disorders. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Pace University’s College of Health Professions, she focuses on teaching, research, and mentoring the next generation of clinicians and scholars.
Her expertise includes Nonmainstream American English dialects, cultural humility, and culturally informed clinical practice, and she contributes as a Topic Area Expert with The Informed SLP, LLC. She has also played an active leadership role in advancing equity in higher education as Co-Coordinator for Anti-Racist Education at Pace University.
With a strong background in research, teaching, and clinical training, she is committed to improving equity, cultural awareness, and inclusive practices in speech-language pathology.
