About Lacey

I am a higher education and student success professional with a deep commitment to helping individuals achieve their academic and personal goals, currently serving as Assistant Director at Baton Rouge Community College, a role I have held since October 2022, where I oversee programs and initiatives that support student success, retention, and engagement. Prior to this role, I served as Student Success Advisor at the Baton Rouge Community College EOC for eight months, where I provided guidance and support to students navigating their educational journeys, and as Outreach Specialist for over four years, where I connected community members with educational opportunities and resources.

I hold a Master of Arts in Human Services with a focus on Marriage and Family Counseling from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services with a focus on Marriage and Family Counseling from Upper Iowa University, where I graduated Cum Laude.

Alongside my professional work, I have volunteered as a Mentor with JA Leading Ladies since 2023, where I help girls in grades seven through twelve learn about different careers, budgeting, STEM, and essential life skills, connecting them with professional women for mentorship and guidance. I also serve as Co-Chair of the Capital Area Prison ReEntry Initiative, where I support the reentry and reintegration of formerly incarcerated individuals into the community.

Across my career in higher education, student success, and community service, my work has been driven by a commitment to empowering individuals to reach their full potential, building pathways to opportunity, and strengthening communities through education and support. Whether I am advising students, leading outreach initiatives, or mentoring young women, I bring a compassionate, relationship-centered approach and a dedication to making a lasting positive impact. I am proud of the work I have done throughout my career and excited to continue serving students and communities through my work at Baton Rouge Community College and beyond.
