Her Story

About Lacey

Lacey Priddy has worked in the transportation safety and DOT compliance industry for six years after spending 16 years managing dental practices and overseeing business operations. She currently serves as a Compliance Consultant with Commercial Fleet Data Systems, where she helps motor carriers and fleet operators navigate DOT regulations, prepare for audits, strengthen safety programs, and maintain compliance with federal and state requirements.

Known for her practical, hands-on approach, Lacey works closely with companies to identify compliance gaps, conduct mock audits, review driver qualification and safety programs, and help clients build systems that support safe and compliant operations.

Following a company-wide reduction in force at the end of 2025, Lacey launched Priddy DOT Compliance Solutions LLC. What began as an opportunity to continue supporting former clients is now a growing side business alongside her full-time consulting role with CFDS Commercial Fleet Data Systems. She provides DOT compliance, safety, and audit readiness services to a wide variety of fleet operators, including trucking companies, construction companies, and other businesses that operate DOT-regulated vehicles.

Lacey is a member of the Texas Trucking Association (TXTA) and the Houston Council of Safety Professionals and is passionate about helping companies protect their drivers, reduce risk, and operate safely and compliantly.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice would be to keep pushing, keep learning, and never stop being curious. You do not have to know everything, and no one does. Focus on learning something new every day and be willing to ask questions.

There will be times when things feel difficult or uncertain, but those moments do not define your future. Sometimes the opportunities that change your life are waiting on the other side of the challenge.

At the end of 2025, I was laid off and honestly felt like it was the end of the world at the time. Looking back, it turned out to be one of the best things that ever happened to me. It gave me the confidence to start my own company, Priddy DOT Compliance Solutions LLC, and led me to a fantastic opportunity with CFDS where I work today.

Don't give up when things get hard. Keep moving forward, keep investing in yourself, and trust that every experience, even the difficult ones, is helping prepare you for what's next.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in transportation compliance is keeping up with the constant changes in regulations and helping companies understand how those changes affect their day-to-day operations. Many carriers and fleet operators want to do the right thing, but regulations can be complex, especially for small businesses that do not have dedicated safety or compliance departments.

At the same time, I see a tremendous opportunity in education and proactive compliance. More companies are recognizing that compliance is not just about avoiding violations or passing an audit. It is about protecting drivers, reducing risk, improving operations, and building a stronger business. This is where compliance support programs, such as those offered through Commercial Fleet Data Systems, can provide significant value by giving companies access to resources, guidance, and expertise they may not otherwise have in-house.

Technology is also creating opportunities to improve compliance management, giving companies better visibility into their operations and helping them identify issues before they become larger problems. I enjoy helping companies move beyond simply checking boxes and instead create systems that support long-term safety and success.
