Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to determination and resilience. As a teen mom who once dropped out of school, I returned and graduated on time, refusing to let obstacles define my path. I have always believed in the transformative power of education—not just for myself, but for my children and the students I have the privilege to serve.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is that time will pass whether you pursue your goals or not—so you might as well pursue them. This mindset motivated me to return to school, earn multiple degrees, and continue working toward creating a meaningful, long-term impact.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to follow your passion and not wait for the “perfect” time. I encourage you to take chances, stay committed, and remember that true growth often comes from stepping into uncomfortable spaces.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is keeping pace with constant curriculum changes, evolving regulations, and the behavioral demands in schools. At the same time, I see tremendous opportunities in building strong relationships, fostering collaboration, and practicing leadership that centers students as whole individuals rather than just data points.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness. I believe in leading by example, building genuine relationships, and being someone others can rely on—whether in a school setting or at home with my family.
