Her Interview

Ten minutes with Lacie

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success comes from my mom and my children. My mom was a hard worker in the army who went back to school but got sick. She was a good mom and showed me how to be a role model in a Christian household. Watching her fight inspires me to be a good role model to my kids and make a difference.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice is to not be scared to shake a few trees. Because if you don't shake them or somebody else shakes them, they're gonna be shaken. Continue to back up why you had to shake that tree and the results will happen as long as you stay planted in it.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

It's okay to not be the quiet finance type. If you find a passion in financing and realize everybody else is quiet around you, that is okay. Keep on being yourself. Had I left, I wouldn't have the passion for numbers I do now.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges are asserting your knowledge and female presence without it coming off as brash. The higher up you get, there are less women. But it presents a great opportunity to speak and present your knowledge, show people your value, and back it up with proven results.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty, staying committed to whatever it is big or small, trust the trustworthy, and keeping Christian values as the core of who I am and my children. If I can keep those four core values for myself, my children, and my community, I think I can focus here.
