She later spent five years with the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce & CVB, advancing into a leadership role overseeing tourism and member events. She then spent five years co-running a marketing company with her husband, an experience that strengthened her understanding of entrepreneurship, small business and the challenges business owners face.

She is currently pursuing her MBA through Western Governors University, continuing to build her expertise in business strategy, finance and organizational leadership.
Beyond her professional role, Weathers is committed to community service and developing others. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, is active with the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Missouri and supports entrepreneurs and small businesses through mentorship and education. She is also passionate about creating opportunities for young people, particularly through internships, career development and mentorship.
Weathers credits much of her determination and resilience to the example set by her mother and draws personal strength and purpose from her faith. Throughout her career, she has focused on bringing people together, finding creative solutions and using her skills and experience to strengthen the businesses, organizations and communities she serves.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Ladona
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute much of my success to the grit and determination I learned from my mother. She moved to Branson, Missouri, with two young daughters and built a life for us through courage, hard work and perseverance. She taught me early that when life gets hard, you do not give up. You keep going.
I lost my mother as a young adult, but the lessons she taught me have stayed with me throughout my life. She also gave me the foundation for my faith, which has become one of my greatest sources of strength.
That faith carried me through my battle with breast cancer in 2025 and helped me realize that true strength comes from the inside out. Life has taught me that you cannot always control what happens to you, but you can choose how you respond. For me, that means trusting my faith, staying determined and continuing to move forward, even when the road is difficult.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received was to take the risk and stop apologizing for being confident in what I bring to the table. As women, we can sometimes hesitate, overthink or wait until we feel completely ready. I have learned that growth often comes from stepping forward before you have every detail figured out.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Do not think you have to know everything. Be curious, ask questions and find a mentor you trust who can offer wisdom, perspective and honest advice.
Even today, my source of wisdom sits just on the other side of my office wall. Having someone you respect and can turn to is invaluable.
And remember, everything is figureoutable. You may not know the answer right away, but you can learn, ask for help and find your way through it.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
People are both the biggest challenge and the greatest opportunity in this work. In tourism, economic development and Chamber leadership, there are a lot of stakeholders with different priorities, perspectives and needs.
The key is listening well, meeting people where they are and making sure those different voices are considered when decisions are made. Whether we are building a tourism marketing plan, working on economic development initiatives or advocating for local businesses, the goal is to find common ground and move the community forward in a way that serves as many people as possible.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I keep my values typed out next to my computer as a daily reminder of how I want to live and lead. They are faith, stability, service, leadership and knowledge.
Those values guide both my personal life and my work. Faith keeps me grounded, service reminds me to look beyond myself, leadership challenges me to be responsible for the impact I have on others, and knowledge pushes me to keep learning and growing.
This year, I have also been intentional about a few personal goals: responding with calm, knowing my worth and being more courageous professionally. Those are the areas where I want to continue growing, both as a leader and as a person.
