About Lady Caitlin

Lady Caitlin Magee is a civil rights and human rights advocate, author, legislative strategist, and founder of Power to the People Civil Rights Private Agency, an organization dedicated to advancing justice, protecting vulnerable populations, and promoting systemic reform. Drawing from her own experiences with homelessness, domestic violence, disability, and trauma, she has transformed personal adversity into a lifelong mission of advocacy. Her work focuses on influencing public policy, supporting survivors, and creating legislative initiatives that address barriers affecting individuals and families in crisis. She is also pursuing studies in public policy at the University at Albany's Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy, building on her academic foundation in human services.

Beyond advocacy, Caitlin is a prolific author, having written more than 20 books covering trauma recovery, self-love, personal growth, and resilience. Her published works include memoirs, life coaching resources, chakra-based wellness guides, and therapeutic coloring books designed to support healing. As the creator of the Power to the People initiative and a champion for legislation such as Caitlin and Troy's Law, she continues to work alongside policymakers and community organizations to improve protections for vulnerable communities. Her affiliations with organizations including the Royal Historical Society, Clan Fraser-CFSSUK, NAACP, ACLU, Greenpeace USA, and Amnesty International reflect her commitment to human rights, education, and civic engagement.

A deeply creative individual, Caitlin expresses herself through writing, photography, music, and art. She is a talented Getty lifestyle photographer, capturing authentic moments that celebrate resilience and humanity, and she enjoys singing opera as a powerful artistic outlet. Journaling has remained a lifelong practice, serving as both a creative and healing tool, while adult coloring books and mindfulness practices form an important part of her self-care routine. Guided by perseverance, compassion, and a commitment to empowering others, Lady Caitlin Magee continues to inspire meaningful change through advocacy, education, creativity, and community leadership.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Lady Caitlin

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to unwavering determination and a steadfast commitment to persevere, even in the face of significant challenges. With so much at stake and lives often hanging in the balance, my passion for advancing civil rights and human rights continues to drive my work. That sense of purpose motivates me to remain resilient, advocate for meaningful change, and make a lasting impact.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received was to never let my circumstances define my future. My lived experiences—including trauma, homelessness, and domestic violence—taught me that adversity can become a source of purpose. That advice inspired me to transform my experiences into advocacy by authoring legislation, championing policies that support individuals affected by trauma and homelessness, advancing civil and human rights, and empowering others through education and life coaching. It continues to remind me that resilience, compassion, and perseverance can create meaningful change.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is securing support and funding, as I have been entirely self-funded. However, this has strengthened my resilience, allowed me to build credibility through my work, and created opportunities to empower women and make a meaningful impact in my community.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me are resilience, balance, and self-care. Staying grounded while navigating the challenges of trauma and disability allows me to care for my mental and physical well-being so I can continue serving others with purpose and compassion.
