Her Interview

Ten minutes with Laini

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to every leader I've ever had the opportunity to work with. One of my first breaks into hospitality was an internship at the Wolf Trap Foundation in Alexandria, Virginia. From there I kept pivoting and seeking new opportunities, working with leaders across boutique hotels to real estate investment trusts and fund managers, picking up gems along the way. I'm really just grateful for every experience.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Don't shy away from finding ways to merge multiple passions. Just because the job doesn't exist doesn't mean that it's not needed, and sometimes we do our best work by finding ways to combine our experiences over time to lend themselves to an industry that we probably weren't anticipating being a part of. Finding ways to merge multiple gifts to create opportunities in front of you allows more opportunities to show up. So just because it doesn't exist doesn't mean you can't create it.
