Her Story
About Lakaisha
Lakaisha Gibson has served as a nurse since 2012, dedicating the majority of her career to pediatric nursing. Her experience includes seven years as a school nurse, approximately one year at a juvenile detention center, and time in pediatric home health. Throughout her tenure, she has embraced leadership opportunities, working as a charge nurse, supervisor, and preceptor. Beyond clinical practice, Gibson is a published children's author whose books are available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other platforms, and have been placed in ten libraries as well as the Library of Congress. She draws inspiration for her writing from personal experiences, including the loss of her mother in 2020. She remains actively involved in her community through youth ministry at her church, where she serves as a youth counselor, and by coordinating children's activities at the Gordon Hurston Festival.
