LaKeisha Weaver is a healthcare operations and clinical training professional with approximately 23 years of experience across healthcare administration, practice management, clinical operations, and compliance. She currently serves as a Clinical Instructor at Minivasive Pain & Orthopedics, where she focuses on developing standardized training programs, creating standard operating procedures, and building learning-management scenarios to support the onboarding and development of medical assistants and advanced clinical staff, including remote and overseas employees. Her current work builds upon extensive experience managing complex healthcare operations and developing systems that support efficient, compliant, and patient-centered care.
Prior to transitioning into clinical instruction, Weaver served as a Practice Administrator at Procura Pain and Spine, where she provided comprehensive operational and administrative direction for a high-volume pain-management practice. Her responsibilities included overseeing personnel, human resources, facilities, information technology, contracts, practice expansion, workflow optimization, and clinical operations. She also previously served in healthcare leadership roles with Texas Integrative Pain Institute and Baylor College of Medicine. Her expertise includes EHR systems such as EPIC, Athenahealth, and eClinicalWorks, as well as healthcare compliance, provider credentialing, revenue-cycle operations, policy development, and process improvement.
Weaver's professional philosophy is strongly rooted in faith, service, advocacy, and genuine care for others. She is particularly passionate about helping healthcare professionals develop the knowledge and tools needed to provide effective patient care, while encouraging the next generation to understand healthcare as a profession centered on people rather than simply a job. Beyond her professional responsibilities, she contributes to church-based healthcare initiatives and collaborates with organizations including Harris County Health, Hope Clinic, Gulf Coast Regional Blood Centers, and Houston Methodist Transplant. She also serves on her church's Emergency Response Team and continues her own education as a student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Biology Science at New Lane University, with an expected graduation in June 2027.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my faith, the support of my family, and my genuine love for helping others. I am also driven by determination and dedication. These qualities have helped me remain committed to serving others, developing professionally, and continuing to move forward through challenges.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women entering healthcare to develop a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology while also learning medical billing and coding. Healthcare is ultimately about caring for people, not simply having a job. It is important to understand who you are beyond your profession and to recognize the responsibility you have to advocate for patients. Build knowledge that allows you to understand both the clinical and administrative sides of healthcare, while keeping the needs of the patient at the center of your work.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in healthcare is the disconnect between knowing what works based on available data and the desire for quick solutions. Healthcare often requires patience, consistency, and hard work to achieve meaningful and sustainable results. The growing expectation for immediate outcomes can make it difficult to maintain the long-term approach that effective healthcare requires. At the same time, this creates an opportunity for healthcare professionals to reinforce evidence-based practices and help organizations and patients understand the importance of sustainable solutions.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
My faith is a major driving force in both my professional and personal life, along with my natural tendency to care for others. I have always been concerned about people's well-being and have made a point of checking on friends and those around me. Compassion, service, and genuine concern for others are central to how I approach both my work and my relationships.
