About Lana
Lana Babichenko serves as principal photographer and owner of Studio Lana, located at 344 Broadway in Menands, New York. With close to 15 years of experience, she focuses on portrait photography, creating painterly portraits modeled after paintings by the Dutch masters through careful editing in Photoshop. She also photographs corporate events and weddings. Lana holds an accounting degree from Sage College of Albany and a degree in entrepreneurship and business from Empire State College. Prior to photography, she ran a dance studio for seven years after designing it as a project for her entrepreneurship studies, and she previously worked in financial industries and brokerage firms. She attributes her success to growing up with an appreciation for art and beauty, her outgoing personality that helps clients feel welcome and relaxed during sessions, and the enormous support from her dance studio community that helped spread the word about her work. Lana emphasizes making women feel comfortable in front of the camera so they can have portraits they love and can pass down to future generations.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I grew up with visuals of the beauty through art that I studied as a little girl. I always try to find beauty in everything and capture it. I've always been a very outgoing person who knows how to make people feel welcome and relaxed. My community from the dance studio days provided enormous support and spread the word about my photography.
