Lanise Parnell, LVT
Lanise Parnell, LVT, is a dedicated veterinary professional and advocate with over 18 years of experience in veterinary medicine. As President and Co-Founder of the PetX Foundation, Lanise has focused her career on expanding educational opportunities and creating career pathways for underrepresented and marginalized middle and high school students interested in the veterinary field. Through hands-on learning, mentorship, and career guidance, PetX nurtures the next generation of veterinary professionals, fostering diversity and inclusion within the industry. Lanise’s work reflects her passion for teaching, her enthusiasm for surgery, and her commitment to creating safe and supportive learning environments for all.
In addition to her leadership at PetX, Lanise has held roles as a Licensed Veterinary Technician at VCA Animal Hospitals and a Surgical Technician at Alpharetta Veterinary Specialty & Emergency, demonstrating expertise in veterinary medicine and surgical procedures. She actively contributes to the veterinary community as a member of both the Georgia Veterinary Technician Association and the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA), advocating for professional growth, equity, and inclusion within the field.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Lanise is deeply committed to community service and animal welfare. She volunteers with organizations such as LifeLine Animal Project, assisting with vaccinations and microchipping for pets in need, and supports initiatives like the Black Pet Business Network to empower entrepreneurs in the pet industry. Lanise’s vision combines hands-on veterinary expertise with a mission to inspire and mentor young people, ensuring that the veterinary profession is accessible, inclusive, and poised for a more diverse future.
