What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to perseverance, adaptability, and the ability to leverage my marketing background and professional relationships to create meaningful opportunities. Transitioning from youth services into large-scale event production required resilience and a willingness to take bold steps—qualities supported by strong industry connections and a commitment to community-centered leadership.
Mentorship has also played a crucial role in my journey, with guidance from influential mentors like Judy Hoff and Porter Gale shaping my approach. Alongside this, the support of my family, spouse, and personal network has been invaluable, helping me stay persistent and focused on growth throughout my career.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received comes from the incredible mentors I’ve been fortunate to learn from. Judy Hoff, founder of the Hoff Foundation, inspired me through her work providing housing and resources for women, shaping my commitment to community support. Porter Gale, former CMO of Virgin America, provided invaluable guidance in my professional development and marketing growth, including support during the launch of Dollar Shave Club, and has continued to mentor me long after our formal working relationship. Their examples have taught me the importance of combining professional excellence with meaningful, community-centered impact.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to persevere through challenges, advocate for yourself, and know when it’s time to move on from situations that no longer support your growth. Persistence is essential, even when circumstances are difficult. I also encourage careful planning—whenever possible, try not to leave a role until you have another opportunity lined up—and to keep moving toward positions that allow for growth. Sometimes advancing your career means changing environments, and building strong networks can open doors and create long-term opportunities.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is the complexity and risk involved in producing large-scale live events—managing logistics, talent partnerships, and audience expectations in a highly competitive entertainment landscape requires constant focus and adaptability. Additionally, the industry remains heavily male-dominated, making the expansion of professional networks and visibility both a challenge and a key opportunity.
At the same time, I see tremendous opportunity in the growing demand for immersive pop culture experiences and community-driven conventions. These platforms allow us to not only build brands and expand networks but also create meaningful cultural impact and foster connections that resonate long after the event ends.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I deeply value perseverance, service, and empowerment. I am driven by creating opportunities for others, uplifting underserved communities, and building platforms that celebrate culture and connection. Integrity, resilience, and using my success as a vehicle for social good guide the way I approach both my work and personal life. Giving back, community service, and supporting women and at-risk youth are central to my mission. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking and traveling with my husband. These activities help me find balance and renewal amid the high-energy demands of producing large-scale events. I value experiences that allow me to connect with nature, explore new places, and maintain perspective in both life and work.
