Accomplished biomedical scientist and public health researcher with extensive international experience in translational research, clinical trials, molecular biology, and infectious disease surveillance. Currently serves as Lead Research Scientist at The George Washington University, leading biospecimen operations for the National Cancer Institute-funded AIDS and Cancer Specimen Resource (ACSR) Regional Biospecimen Repository.
Specializes in biospecimen science, quality assurance, molecular diagnostics, and clinical research coordination, supporting Phase I and Phase II clinical trials focused on HIV/AIDS, cancer, and vaccine research. Experienced in sample processing, storage management, laboratory quality systems, and translational biomedical research within highly regulated clinical environments.
Previously conducted postdoctoral research in vaccine and infectious disease studies, contributing to innovative translational projects in collaboration with international clinical trial initiatives. Earlier leadership roles include serving as Assistant Coordinator with the World Mosquito Program in Brazil, where responsibilities included quality control implementation, vector-borne disease intervention strategies, molecular screening, laboratory operations, and community engagement programs.
