About LaShawn
I've been doing legwork to create conversations about the Black experience and the disparities I've noticed in marginalized communities. After losing my grandmother last year, I realized how important it is to talk about insurance policies, grief, and death - topics nobody really deals with until they actually happen. We need to know about these insurance policies and what to do regarding them. I'm also focused on health disparities and mental health, which culturally a lot of people choose not to partake in because back in the day it was taboo to ask questions or be informative about decision-making. It was private and had a lot of parameters around it. I'm working on how I can exercise my knowledge and bring it to a self-awareness type platform. I've been going to different sessions where people in the community are offering content creator training so I can build my brand as well.
