About Lashell
LaShell is a dedicated cardiac nurse with a strong clinical foundation in medical-surgical care and a growing specialization in neuroscience and telemetry. She currently works with HCA Healthcare, where she provides hands-on patient care, cardiac monitoring, medication education, and discharge preparation. Known for building strong rapport with patients, she is committed to ensuring individuals fully understand their care plans and feel supported throughout their hospital stay. Her healthcare journey began in phlebotomy and laboratory services, where she developed a strong interest in the human body and patient care. She later advanced into nursing through Galen College of Nursing, earning her associate degree in nursing while maintaining academic excellence and continuing her BSN studies. Along the way, she has gained experience across cardiology, neurology, respiratory, nephrology, endocrinology, and urology units, building a well-rounded clinical skill set in acute care settings. LaShell’s professional focus centers on cardiac nursing and patient education, with additional training in seizure and epilepsy care through the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing. She is also actively pursuing advanced certifications in telemetry and stroke care, reflecting her commitment to continuous learning. Grounded in faith and compassion, she is known for creating a calm, supportive environment for patients during some of their most vulnerable moments while striving to deliver clear communication and high-quality care.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I contribute my success to God first - He's always first, and I put all my faith and everything into Him. He's making it possible for my family and me. I also contribute my success to my parents. They have passed - they've been gone since I was a kid. I wish they were here, but I know they're still watching.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've received is to just keep going and don't stop - all gas, no brakes.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Always believe in yourself, stay committed to your goals even when the journey gets challenging, and trust that your dedication and passion will open doors in the nursing field.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges right now is being short-staffed. Lately, we've been short-staffed all the time, but I just keep positive and keep caffeine going.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I put God first - that's my value. He's always first, and I put all my faith and everything into Him. He's making it possible for me and my family.
