Ten minutes with Latanya
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my faith and the strong foundation my parents gave me. Their guidance, values, and unwavering support have shaped who I am, both personally and professionally, and continue to influence the way I approach challenges and opportunities.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is, "Leaders make other leaders." That mindset has stayed with me throughout my career and reminds me that true leadership is about empowering others, helping them grow, and creating opportunities for them to succeed.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would encourage young women to never see their passion as a disadvantage. There may be times when you feel underestimated or compared to others, but your passion, determination, and unique perspective are strengths. Believe in your abilities, continue building your skills, and never let anyone define your potential.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is adapting to the rapid growth of artificial intelligence and understanding how to use it effectively in our work. For many professionals, particularly those who have built successful careers before AI became widespread, there is a learning curve. At the same time, AI presents a tremendous opportunity to work more efficiently, make smarter decisions, and improve productivity. The key is staying open to learning and embracing change.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me are trust, honesty, loyalty, and empathy. I believe trust and integrity are essential for building strong relationships, while empathy allows us to better understand and support the people around us. In today's world, I believe empathy is more important than ever, and I strive to lead with compassion in both my personal and professional life.
