Her Story
About Latanya
I started in banking at Beverly Bank and worked my way up from teller to manager. That led me to insurance where I began as a claims assistant and advanced to medical-only adjuster, telephonic case management, and eventually manager of a performance guarantee claims team at Sedgwick for 25 years. I then moved to Amazon as a risk manager auditing workers' compensation claims before joining Liberty Mutual in a similar role managing claims to resolution.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Remember who you work for - Colossians 3:23-4: 'Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for human masters.' This keeps me relaxed and focused on serving Christ rather than people.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't say you're sorry unnecessarily. Get rid of the word 'I'm sorry' when used incorrectly as it diminishes our power as women. Use your voice and don't diminish yourself.
03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Grow my faith in God's Word, obey God's command, achieve spiritual growth, and live out God's great commands (GOAL acronym).
