Her Story
About LaTanya
With over 25 years in the consumer goods industry, I most recently served as Sales Director in hair care with Procter & Gamble, a position I held from 2023 to 2026. In this role, my key responsibilities included creating go-to-market strategies for retailers, delivering on brand performance, and managing sales teams. What I consider my most notable professional achievement is helping to elevate sales leaders when I was managing sales teams. I'm a proud Procter & Gamble alum, and I earned my bachelor's degree in business from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia in 1991. Throughout my career, I've found that my success has come from relationship building and having the skill set to listen and understand people, while looking at strategy from both long-term and short-term perspectives. The values most important to me in my work and personal life are honesty and integrity.

Ten minutes with LaTanya
01What do you attribute your success to?
I think my success really has come from relationship building and having the skill set to listen and understand people. It's about truly listening and understanding what people need and what drives them. I also attribute my success to my ability to look at strategy from both a long-term and short-term perspective, which has helped me navigate challenges and create effective solutions throughout my career.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received was to have an open mind and don't put limits on yourself. This advice has been invaluable throughout my career because it's encouraged me to stay open to new possibilities and not constrain myself based on preconceived notions of what I could or couldn't achieve.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would say always stay open to learn. It's important to understand that you have value because of who you are and what you bring to the table. Know that everyone struggles through things in the beginning, or as they change or move throughout their career. These challenges are normal and part of the journey, so don't let them discourage you from pursuing your goals.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field is having higher expectations of others. Managing and aligning expectations, particularly when leading teams and working with diverse stakeholders, requires careful navigation and strong interpersonal skills.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are honesty and integrity. These principles guide how I interact with others, make decisions, and conduct myself professionally and personally.
