Her Interview
Ten minutes with Latasha
01What do you attribute your success to?
My success comes from my faith, my family, and my core self raised with values of faith, family, and education. I took time to care for my mom with Alzheimer's and dementia, following her example of hard work and sacrifice, and she always cheered me on to advance my career.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice is to never stop learning. As long as you are living and working, never stop being curious, and never stop learning. Always be a student of your craft. That makes you the best at what you're doing. As long as you can ask questions, be inquisitive, continue to advance, you will see your career continue to advance.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never stop being a cheerleader for someone else. When we all succeed, that's when we win. This is not a competition, it is really a team sport. We can all grow and succeed and strive, because each one of our journeys are different. We don't need one down in order to advance.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges are for community businesses in a saturated market with interchange fees, processing fees, tariffs, and recession affecting family businesses. My role is to be an educational resource explaining regulations in layman's terms, help save money, cut costs, explain risks, bring compliance and support to shoulder the burden with them, and be a calm voice amid competitors and market pressures.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, honesty, perseverance, and being genuine are most important. These values were instilled by my family and guide how I serve clients and community, ensuring people know I truly care.
