About Latasha
I started my career in broadcast journalism 17 years ago while attending Marshall University, where I majored in broadcast journalism. I began working at WOWK Channel 13 as an associate producer and assignment desk editor for the weekends, then worked my way up to producer for the day shift and eventually the morning show. In 2010, I made the move to Sinclair Broadcast Group at Channel 8, WCHS, and Fox, where I started as the 10 o'clock producer. A few years later, I transitioned to dayside and became the 6PM producer, which is our most-watched newscast. From there, I continued to advance, moving into the assignment editor role and then into management as the special project executive producer. Throughout my career, I've been recognized with multiple awards, including the AP Best Evening Newscast in 2015, and the WVBA Best Evening Newscast in 2016, 2017, and 2019. Our team won the 2025 Edward Murrow Award for our breaking news coverage of the April 2nd tornado, and I personally won the 2026 WVBA Best Community Outreach Large Market Award for the Town Hall West Virginia Water Infrastructure Crisis. As a wife and mother, I put all that I can into my career while balancing the responsibilities of taking care of my family, including my father who is currently having some health issues.

01What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I think it's important for industries to appreciate the work that women like me put into our careers, especially as wives and mothers. We put all that we can into our careers, and it's important for industries to have the flexibility to allow us to do other things that we need to do, like taking care of our families. Right now, I also have a father who is having some health issues, so having that flexibility to handle everything else that we have going on in our lives while still being recognized for the work we put into the industries we work in is really important to me.
