What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my genuine passion for helping others and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need support the most. My career began as a Direct Support Coordinator, working closely with children and adults with developmental disabilities. Over time, my dedication and commitment have allowed me to grow professionally, and I now serve as a therapist, continuing to support and empower the individuals I work with every day.

The best career advice I’ve ever received is simple but powerful: You can make a difference. That reminder has guided me throughout my career, inspiring me to approach every opportunity with dedication, compassion, and a focus on positively impacting the lives of those I serve.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

To young women entering my industry, I would say: You can do it. Never give up, no matter how challenging the journey may seem. The hard work and obstacles you face are worth it, and the rewards—both personal and professional—make the effort truly meaningful.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in my field right now is finding ways to be fully present and supportive for the children and adults I work with, while also balancing my responsibilities as a parent to my four-year-old daughter. This dual role has deepened my understanding of the importance of patience, empathy, and flexibility, and it drives me to continuously improve the care and support I provide.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are compassion, dedication, and the ability to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adults with special needs. Guiding, supporting, and empowering others in this way is at the heart of everything I do.
