Her Interview
Ten minutes with Latece
01What do you attribute your success to?
I give honor to God first for his direction and the anointing on my life. Also my community, the people in my circle that push me and believe in me, and my husband who allows me to try things with no complaints and lifts me up.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
A woman named Mamie Reed taught me that when you give something make sure they contribute so it has value and you don't pour from an empty cup. Always look for mutual benefit so you don't get taken advantage of.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't lose yourself. Make sure you take care of yourself and take breaks when needed because we can give until we're empty and lose who we are.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
My biggest challenge was my heart getting in the way of being profitable by doing things for free. I had to learn my value so others would value my work.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Treating people right with respect and love is my number one value. I'm not judgmental and I meet people where they are. I love to bring out the best in people so they feel better after being in my presence.
